Broadband innovation lab to be set-up in London by Virgin Media
By confirming the plans to set-up a broadband innovation lab, Vrigin media once again proves its commitment towards its customers. The inventive lab will be opened in Silicon Roundabout, London. In the new innovation lab, Virgin Media will trial its services and products.
Virgin Media will team up with TheCube on this project. Before the new broadband products are launched for commercial use, they will be tested by the TheCube members. Experts from Virgin Media and technology start-ups will share their ideas on it. David Cameron, Prime minister will uncover he innovation lab officially during his visit in Silicon Roundabout, the Tech City.
Spokesperson for Virgin Media said that the collaboration will allow superfast connectivity with better applications and services. In the coming 12 months, the trial will take place and it will be offered to TheCube for free. The fibre-optic network is utilized to the best to provide connectivity start-up necessary to direct their project in their right direction.
Virgin Media director of advanced technology and innovation, Dale Barnes believes the efforts of the start-up community will offer the company better approach to their products.
Recently, new media companies and technology have started in Silicon Roundabout. Mr Cameron hopes that some day the Tech City will challenge the famous Silicon Valley in California.
