Virgin Media Business announces Big Red Internet
A fresh service named Big Red Internet has been announced by Virgin Media Business. This business broadband deal has been reportedly designed to offer additional capacity to businesses in the United Kingdom to help the IT Staff keep bandwidth issues at bay.
The two-tier broadband internet service that went live in the market from Tuesday offers 1Gbps or 100Mbps download and upload speeds for a one time annual fee on contract spanning over three years.
The price of the 100AMbps will be GBP 13,000 managed or GBP 12,000 unmanaged per annum. The 1 Gbps broadband service will come with a price tage of GBP 22,000 or GBP 25,000 managed. Proactive management of the network and configuration and installation of routers include in the managed services.
Virgin Media's managing director, Mark Heraghty came forward with an explanation that most customers either required broadband speeds of 10Mbps to 30Mbps or 60Mbps to 100Mbps, and the company was all set to offer the high level connection speeds by taking advantage of its network's unused capacity.
Heraghty added that the peak service time on their network was generally around 10pm, and that was essentially empty during the daytime, which promoted the company to leverage that unsused capacity for enabling businesses have more from their connections.
Although, Virgin Media Business is not going to force the companies, which have no desire for increasing their capacity to upgrade, it looks confident that a good number of the firms would want to get the benefit of increasing capacity.
