The pilot will be carried out by a partnership that inlcudes Virgin Media and four firms belonging to the creative industries. It has been reported that the group was working extensively for broadcasting services for live events and programmes, producing interactive applications for the internet and providing video for mobile and internet streaming.
JOn James Virgin Media's executive director for broadband commented on the development that their growing network provided a competitive substitute for the fastest fibre telecommunications networks of the future, making sure that the residentail and business customers of VirgiN media continued to enjoy broadband service of world class.
