100,000 homes lack broadband in Edinburgh

In a recent study conducted, researches have found out 100,000 houses are lacking broadband connection in Edinburgh.


Edinburgh news has reported that Virgin Media has announced that every month it will provide broadband connection to 1000 homes without spending a penny for it. This is in accord to Office of Communications and the General Office of Statistics Scotland.


Along with the free connection faster broadband package is offered, this is in terms to promote the essentials of online in the country. XL package with a speed of 20Mbps has been introduced by Virgin media and those connected by this provider will benefit from a free trial of the service in the respective month.


The UK government is failing on the hope of achieving 'broadband for everyone' with this large numbers of home with lack of this facility.


According to Ashley Stockwell, brand and marketing managing director of Virgin media, reliable and fast broadband is provided for all the surfers in Edinburgh with the fibre optic technology inculcated in this broadband. Conversely, it is still not known why so many homes in the Scottish capital do not have a fast broadband connection.


Apart from offering free connections, Virgin Media has launched a campaign in Euston rail station targeting commuters passing through Euston rail station and this is a part of the promoting methods. This campaign is done with a wise thought of incorporating the words ‘Broad band’ in 73-metre billboard.


With this campaign Virgin has achieved the credit for having the longest outdoor rail ad space on Euston Broadside in the UK.
