York SMEs can apply for newly launched broadband voucher scheme

Small businesses in York that are looking forward to get better broadband experience can apply for a connection voucher from more than 200 registered suppliers to get the benefit, it has been reported. This new scheme has been launched to provide vouchers to small and medium sized enterprises (SME). The launch has allowed companies to sign up for a connection voucher worth upto £3,000. It is also redeemable and can be registered with more than 200 suppliers.

York is one among the 22 super connected cities and hence can apply for public broadband fund which will come from Department for Culture, Media and Sport based on the allotment made and is expected to change the way of operation when SMEs sign up for the service. According to Ed Vaizey, Communications Minister, the voucher scheme will help businesses to save thousands of pounds and at the same time equip themselves with all that is required to compete in this digital world.
