CLANNET rolls out free Wifi to Northallerton High Street

A new WiFi hotspot is being deployed to cover Northallerton High Street. Thanks to the joint £1,000 project of Northallerton Retail & Business Forum, Hambleton District Council and Northallerton Town Council. The cost of Northallerton i-Street project will be shared between the scheme partners. Wireless ISP CLANNET has installed the service and has brought in several networks to various parts of North Yorkshire.

Reports say that £1,000 was provided by Hambleton District Council and running costs was shared by the partners. A phone line was provided by the town council from the town hall probably for the supply of fixed line broadband capacity.

A new CLANNET Hotspot has been established under the Northallerton Free WiFi project. High street visitors need to sign up to avail the service which will be available from the southern end up to Zetland Street and All Saints’ Church.
