Wembley Park homes extended the 1Gbps service by ISP Velocity1

Residents in the Wembley Park development, specifically of 475 homes, will receive 1,000Mbps capable broadband, as the ISP Velocity1 expanded their FTTP network to cover more of Wembley.

The first stage of the Wembley Park build (worth a total of £3.4 billion) has been completed by local development firm Quintain, after 7 years of work. The project has added, around the iconic National Stadium, hundreds of homes and shopping builds, including various other new attractions to the area. The 475 homes, part of an ambitions 5,000 new home scheme, have been finally completed, having started the work in the last summer. The company Velocity1 was established to build the true fibre-optic network for premises here. Now, the first services are going live in the new development.

The ISP may claim that those moving in will get one of the fastest domestic broadband connections in the United Kingdom. However, similar 1000 Mbps services are being rapidly put up, with other ISPs like Gigaclear, Hyperoptic, B4RN, etc. on the job now for several years on many locations. Meanwhile, Sky Broadband and TalkTalk are in York working on a new network capable of 1Gbps. Again, BT is expected to launch a similar FTTP product offering 1Gbps, in a short time.
