Stephen Carter, the minister for communications and technology in the UK has lauded the LTE (Long Term Evolution technology) trials undertaken by Motorola at their Swindon research lab. Besides, he also praised the capability of LTE technology to don a vital role in the future of the broadband segment of Britain.

Stephen CarterHe had also expressed his belief that the technology could realise the visions of the government of a Digital Britain, where every household in the country enjoyed broadband service at a speed of 2Mbps. Alongside, he added that LTE technology could evolve as the technology of the future as it had the potentials to help reach broadband to the remote, as well as otherwise unreachable parts of the country.

The Long Term Evolution technology often mistaken by many as the 4G technology, is in fact the most advanced face of the 3G technology. Many experts term it 3.9G in the circumstances. However, studies disclose the fact that such advances in the broadband technology sector, could culminate in raising the worth of the global mobile broadband industry, by the year 2014 to more than an astounding GBP 48.1 billion.
