Hyperoptic to install at Battersea development fastest broadband in UK

Hyperoptic, the pure fibre broadband provider, is installing at the Circus West Village, which is in its first phase, what it claims is the fastest broadband service in the country. This installation is in a known part of London, as the redevelopment of the Battersea Power Station (BPS). The fibre network will provide symmetrical gigabit speeds that perform 128 times more than the traditional ADSL technology available. It will be supplied to around 865 premises in the development.

The Head of Property at Hyperoptic, David Walker, said the BPS project is at one of London's most recognisable landmarks and one of the most exciting redevelopments in UK, planned meticulously to deliver an unrivalled community living experience. He added that being chosen is a further recognition to them. This follows after the regulator Ofcom credited the provider with boosting the superfast broadband connectivity over the last year in the country. According to the regulator the average download a year ago was at 30Mbps or more, reaching 27%, or 8 million premises. Now the figure hits 31% or 9.1 million homes.

The Building Services Technical Manger, Mike Varney, at the BPS Development Co. said all suppliers were selected strategically, aimed at world-class infrastructure for the project and to give residents access to the very best of services offered in the market. He added that broadband infrastructure has a significant role in quality of life, although it may be "invisible". He was delighted that Hyperoptic, renowned for its product range, service and phenomenal speeds, has come on board to supply fibre to residents, he remarked.
