Traffic in Three’s network on rapid increase

Thursday, July 26th 2012

Mobile operator ‘Three’ is jubilant that the average data usage, by its contract customers has doubled. It is mainly because of the use of iPhones and other Android devices.

However, analysts have warned that unless Three takes suitable measures, it is certain to face capacity issues.

Three is excited at its growth. Dave Dyson of the company informed that the customers prefer the handset than the home PC and landline for using the internet.

This trend is will only increase.

The company’s ‘All You Can Eat’ data tariff is also partly responsible for that. It costs £13 a month. The users can peacefully use the mobile for data without fearing of exceeding the limit. The worry free package is overwhelmingly liked by the users and made best use of.

Graham Baxter, in charge of Three’s network informed that traffic of data has been enormous and so the company had to double the network spending substantial money.

Telecom analyst Shuan Collins of CCS Insight is full of praise for Three. He stated that Three concentrated on data and so it is now reaping the harvest. However, he said, that Three has to be prepared to cope up with them heavy load. It must plan its growth accordingly.

Another telecom analyst John Delany of IDC informed that growth will eventually call for extra spectrum. But that will be available only by the end of next year.
