Three comes again with SIM-Only plans

As a result of the growing demand for contract SIMs and the increase in the number of smartphone owners, Three has re-launched its SIM-only deals. For 6.90 Pounds a month the deal offers text, data plans and voice. GfK statistics states that the market has grown by 34% with in a period of last two years starting from June 2010.

The Sim-only deals are available for one month to one year with essential to limit less internet plans. The lowest priced deal is for 6.90 Pounds which offers 500MB, 200 minutes and 5000 texts for one year. Tariff of 15.90 Pounds a month is the costliest deal and it offers 600 minutes, 1GB of data and 5000 texts.

Another monthly contract is for 12.90Pounds and it offers unlimited data, 5000 texts and 200 minutes. Sim-only customers are allowed to enter into contract for The One Plan for a tariff of 25 Pounds a month which offers unlimited data, 5,000 texts and 2000 minutes.

Thomas Malleschitz, Three’s market director, said that there is demand for Sim as the consumers demand best value for their money. They want to keep pace with the advent of new smartphones. The new Sim plans are designed for internet, with lot of data, texts and increased allowance of minutes to cater to the needs of consumers.

Ernest Doku at USwitch said that Three is the pioneer to launch unlimited data on pay monthly contracts and it recognized the market’s demand for a reasonable amount of data. Customers want easy switch over of providers, low bills, unlimited data usage etc usually enjoyed only by contractual consumers. These Internet Tariffs provide all that is demanded and all the more the internet charges are affordable and there are no hidden charges.

However, he suggested that it is good for consumers to be more realistic when it comes to their needs and that it is better for them to go through their bills and find out which tariff is best suited for them.
