Three, calling spade a spade

Saturday, March 3rd 2012

The Three’s posting on a blog came as bolt from the blue for the UK consumers. It has announced that the provider is only finalizing the plans for the roll out of 4G in the UK. Many countries across the Globe, USA, Korea etc have already rolled out 4G LTE technology and one of the pioneers in the broadband technology – UK – is still thinking of 4G rollout.

The reputation of the provider “Three” has affected badly when the customers heard the announcement. All the UK customers were eagerly waiting for the announcement of the rollout of 4G LTE technology, and to their disappointment, Three came up with 3G upgrading announcement.

However, the 3G upgrade proposed by Three will double the broadband speeds to 42 Mbps due to the application of HSPA+ technology. Again, Three announced that it is still working on LTE and it would be the first company in the UK to provide 4 G LTE internet. When 4G network is made available to the UK customers, the mobile broadband speeds would be 120 Mbps and it would pave the way for a batch of LTE phones and tablets which are at present not available in the UK. The chances of Everything Everywhere launching 4 G LTE network in the UK by the close of 2012 also cannot be ruled out.
