EU Data Roaming Allowance boost up by Three UK
One of the well-known mobile operators in the UK – Three UK has started sending message to their customers on EU Data Roaming Allowance boosting from the exisiting fair usage limit of 15GB to 19 GB on their 3G/4G services with effect from December 28, 2018 without extra cost.
As per the announcement, it was said that they are increasing the data under Go Roam Europe destinations at no additional cost. Even Pay As You Go customers will also get an increase in the data allowance from 12 GB to 15 GB at the end of this month.
The above increase in data limits are applicable only if you have the sufficient data in your plan. Say for example. if you opted for 4GB, you are capped at 4GB, 8GB means then data capped at 8GB and if you have opted for 100GB data then you will get 19GB usage in the EU.
The charges for data usage beyond 19GB (Pay Monthly) and 15GB (Pay As You Go) are charged at 0.5p per MB. Whereas if you are visiting French Guiana, the Aland Islands, Guadeloupe, Gibraltar, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Martinique, Norway, Mayotte, Réunion or Switzerland, then you will charged at 0.41p per MB.
The ISP will also increase their worldwide data cap to £43.97. The customers cannot make use of their mobile phone as Wifi Hotspot when they are in Go Roam Around the world destinations unless otherwise they have bought Data Passport. Though this will be soon taken out for EU travellers of specific category.
