Ways of Optimising Broadband Speeds at Home Being Explained by TalkTalk
It has been reported that people making use of home broadband connectivity could avail of easy measures to enhance their broadband speeds. A TalkTalk engineer Mr. Isaac Fofie who is anchored in South London stated that by inserting the router into the master socket of the telephone instead of plugging it into an extension is one way of increasing broadband speeds. This seemed to be an extremely valuable piece of advice. It has been suggested that home broadband users must also examine their filters because these filters ensure that analogue phone calls will not interrupt the digital signals for broadband. Mr. Fofie stated that it is unfortunate that even a lick of the filter by a pet or a ball being bumped into it could create enough harm. He elucidated that spares could be bought from any shop that sells broadband accessories. He stated that the method through which computers and mobile phones were linked to the Internet could also have an effect on the download speeds that users obtain. He said that wire-free broadband was useful though it would not offer speeds as fast as what was offered by the cable broadband connection. He said that if one wished to utilize connection and found that the speeds were not what they should really be, it could be because the Wi-Fi frequency was not clashing with the connectivity of the neighbour’s connection. Some of the other points that need to be checked would be the caches on the computer, which means that the records of all the sites that had been visited by the user. He explained that when the cache was too full up, it could lower the speed of the connection to the Internet. He also said that computers that were infected by viruses could have an effect on the speeds that were obtained. He said that if the user were to turn off any of the peer2peer applications or instant messaging services it could greatly enhance download speeds said Mr. Fofie.
