TalkTalk unpopular with customers

TalkTalk continues to remain unpopular with the UK customers as the network provider holds the dubious position as the most complained about service provider for each of the last five quarters.

According to a report published by the telecom regulator Ofcom, the network providers like BT, Orange, and Virgin. Sky etc were much better than TalkTalk in the first quarter of the year with respect to customer satisfaction.

TalkTalk received at the rate of 0.56 complaints for 1,000 subscribers. This was 400% more than that of Sky, which had the least number of complaints.

Most of the complaints were of line faults and other service matters, informed Ofcom.

It is not that the problem lay only with the broadband. Fixed line telephone customers of TalkTalk were also unhappy with the provider. Between January and March of 2012, it received complaints at the rate of 0.072 for 1000 subscribers.

In the meantime, its competitor BT received complaints as low as about 33% of that received by TalkTalk.

Virgin Media proved to be the fixed line provider with the least number of complaints. It had only 20% complaints to that received by TalkTalk.

However there is some consolation for TalkTalk. Ofcom has informed that during the last five quarters, the complaints against TalkTalk for fixed line has dropped to around 33%.
