TalkTalk to offer soon new PowerLine adapters for faster PlusTV connection

TalkTalk is reported to offer very soon its customers what will be a brand new adapter for Plus TV (YouView) subscriber service. The gadget, based on DHP-W311AV Powerline Adapters, as a kit will extend the WiFi network and convert the electrical cable on your building into a fast network.  Presently customers are offered two types of PowerLine kits. One with a pass-through socket and another without that function. The Bright Spark engineers who install TV and broadband service for providers can be also be asked to setup these Powerline adapters. Unlike TalTalk's existing adapters, the latest kit is able to support HomePlug AV that can match to local network speeds of up to 500 Mbps. Practical speeds are usually highly variable around 40 to 100 Mbps. The kit can also be used to install or extend  and N-spec WiFi wireless network. They are reported to consume only 6 watts of power. Although no launch date has been officially announced, they will soon be available on TalkTalk's online shop and should retail around £60.
