TalkTalk named Best Broadband & Phone Provider

It has been reported that a number of internet service providers and mobile broadband providers operating in the United Kingdom have won encomium at the Top 10 broadband awards 2010 function that concluded last night.

It is particularly worth noting here that the leading broadband and home phone provider of the United Kingdom, TalkTalk was one entity that benefited the most from the event as it was not only named the best broadband and home phone provider in the country, but also its Essentials product was bestowed with the best home broadband package.

However, not many would have risen to complain on the occasion (except for the customers) as few ISPs might have felt left out, with the authority managing to present something to almost all. Plusnet gained the best value home broadband, Sky Broadband won the best broadband and TV, Virgin Media got the fastest home broadband, and it hardly stopped there.

The awards ceremony was held at the Paramount Club, which is located at the heights of the iconic Centre Point building of Central London. Robert Llewellyn hosted the awards.

Meanwhile, Top 10 claimed that the super-fast fibre optic broadband services of BT, BT Infinity was wrong in claiming that it delivered broadband speeds of up to 100Mbps. The website added that BT was yet to begin the commercial rollout of the concerned fibre broadband technology (FTTP) and the the best download speed currently delivered by it was up to 40Mbps through FTTC.

Other winners in the awards ceremony were O2 for best customer-rated home broadband, Orange for best customer benefits, Vodafone for the fastest mobile broadband, 3 UK for best value mobile broadband and BT for broadband innovation.
