TalkTalk Migration starts as Tiscali starts its Countdown
It has been reported that the new decision taken by the UK internet service provider TalkTalk to retire its subsidiary broadband provider Tiscali from signing up new customers has started rolling on. Incidentally, Carphone Warehouse that is the owner of TalkTalk had in the middle of 2008 acquired Tiscali UK, which is still popular in the country as a broadband phone bundle provider. It has also been reported that Tiscali was rebranded under the brand TalkTalk from January 7 2009 and would not sign up fresh customers anymore. On the other hand, TalkTalk, which is also popular in the country as the provider of cheap business broadband packages, has also started migrating the customers of Tiscali to its own broadband internet network from January 7. Meanwhile, reports have also come that TalkTalk was found assuring the apprehended Tiscali customers that a series of product as well as service enhancements would be brought forth by it by 2009 May. Nonetheless, it is also worth reading with the above lines that it was revealed in December 2009 that the customers of Tiscali UK would lose GBP 60 provided they switched to TalkTalk once the migration started. According to the TalkTalk dictum, the existing Tiscali customers that were on a broadband only package for GBP 14.99 per month would be offered the choice to switch to a broadband phone bundle of TalkTalk at no extra price. The communications director at TalkTalk, Mark Schmid said that they were a UK broadband and phone company predominantly that offered the best packages on this basis, and if the customers did not wish to take our calls to carry on with their standalone broadband package, the cost would increase to GBP 19.99.
