Saturday, October 22nd 2011

TalkTalk is currently getting the public to vote for their TalkTalk Digital Heroes Award 2011. They have published the list of 37 astonishing finalists. The Chief executive of the company, Dido Harding said that providers of broadband had got a great number of nominations in 2011and every one of them seemed to deserve the award. She said that it was the onus of the public to determine who was to be the regional winner. TalkTalk was looking forward to get more votes than the 140,000 votes that they got the previous year. This award programme was set up to appreciate the attempts by people who try to utilize digital know-how to effect constructive changes in the society. Candidates with the highest number of votes from every one of the twelve regions would be elected their regional Digital Hero and presented with a reward of 5,000 pounds at a function that would be held at the House of Lords. One of the twelve winners would be awarded the UK Digital Hero and would be awarded 10,000 pounds as reward for their work. Ms Harding commented that irrespective of whether people were only interested in looking at how these nominees utilize digital technology to create astounding things in their social set up or whether they were actually looking to choose the winner, people were requested to visit the TalkTalk website at www.talktalk.co.uk/digitalheroes to have a look at all 37 of the final candidates and cast their votes. She said votes people could vote could be given to candidates from any region; not necessarily to the nominee from their own region and she also added that the company hoped that the public would enjoy selecting the winner as much as they had enjoyed selecting the 37 finalists.
