Wednesday, November 28th 2007

According to a news feature in the Independent, TalkTalk customers in the 0208 areas of London are facing severe congestion problems due to the inadequate bandwidth capacity of the Opal network that supplies Fast broadband connections in this area.

The Opal network of the Carphone Warehouse, the ISP which also owns TalkTalk and AOL, seems to have failed to add extra bandwidth to the network of TalkTalk exchanges in these areas several times in the past.

The ISP has already received over 2000 complaints related to non-connectivity problems that the customers undergo nowadays.

Charles Dunstone, theCEO of the Carphone Warehouse was reported to have admitted that there were major problems in this area.

It seems that the ISP could resolve this issue within the end of this week.

TalkTalk, who offer free broadband with their international call plans has recently announced that its customer base has crossed 2.6 million while a number of exchanges were unbundled during the last quarter.

Its half-year profits shows more than three hundred percent growth, thus making it one of the fastest growing broadband in UK
