According to Dido Harding of ‘Talk Talk’, the broadband users have benefited from ‘parental control’ provided by the service provider.

Earlier ‘Bailey Review’ had thrown light on the importance of good control over the children using the internet. The blocking of certain websites was extremely important.

Mrs Harding said that the parents should be able to decide whether they need to make use of parental control. In fact, Talk Talk has been offering the service for quite sometime.

Talk Talk provided HomeSafe free to the users. As they do not have the burden of paying for the service, the users came out with the request for blocking access to almost one million websites. Talk Talk has accepted accordingly.

It is good that the government is in the same frequency as the parents in discouraging the youth from viewing obscene materials through the net. Parents have to know both the opportunities and the risk of the net and act accordingly.

PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, consoles etc will be prevented by the software from getting connected to the wrong sites which spoil the children. The sites which concentrate on sex, violence, weapons etc are denied access.

There is no doubt that Talk Talk is doing yemon service to the UK public by providing the free software HomeSafe to prevent the children from getting spoiled through the net.
