Migration to Residential Broadband of many TalkTalk Business customers confirmed.

TalkTalk has moved a large number of its TalkTalk Business customers to the residential package, TalkTalk Plus, of the ISP. This migration done by the ISP came to be noticed when a large number of TalkTalk business customers were sent letters confirming that they'll be migrated to the TalkTalk Plus package. This unusual move by the ISP, informed through their letter, does not give an opt-out option to clients. If a customer wishes to opt-out, he or she has to communicate with the provider through email or phone specifically for that.

Why TalkTalk is migrating their Business clientèle to a domestic solution is confusing. Business clients like to stay in a suitable package, complimenting their business operations and may prefer to spend more for qualitative service. This move seems to be contrary to their earlier stand, when Andy Lockwood, Director-TalkTalk Business, warned SMEs they could lose more by way of lost labour and downtime if they take up a domestic pack instead of a business one. Clients were getting prioritised traffic for business over residential traffic. It would not be easily acceptable for a business customer to be sold a home solution where a higher contention ratio is expected. TalkTalk claims that they will be offering better value service and access to new products like unlimited download and TV, free anytime calls, and also better 'HomeSafe' security, at the same time helping to save money for business customers through this domestic Plus package.
