According to the latest research of TalkTalk it has found out that over half million of homes in the UK is losing approximately 4Mbps of internet speed.

The main cause of this loss of internet speed is poor wiring of the household and lack of proper configuration of the routers.

There are other factors that are responsible for the reduction of the broadband speed too. TalkTalk’s survey found out that 25,000 homes in the UK had not properly installed the micro filters and in rest of the cases the people didn’t even connected the routers into the master socket.

This survey of 25,000 household by the TalkTalk Bright Sparks engineers found out the cause of loses of speed is 31% of poor wiring, 20% requires reconfiguration or proper set up of routers, 17% requires the proper set up of phone socket, 14% required an ADSL internet filter and 13% of the people has not connected the router to the master socket.

TalkTalk consumers who are unable to get the most out of their broadband connection may qualify for the free visit of the Bright Sparks engineer, which generally charges £50. By doing test of line speed on the site of TalkTalk will help to analysis any problem. If the line indicates of any error then the consumer will receive a promo code which will entitle the customer to the free visit.

Mr. Dan Downham who is the TalkTalk Bright Sparks engineer told that the customer can lose up to four megabits of speed per second because of the poor set up of home. When in relation to the average household that has the internet speed of 7.6 megabits in a second the customer will consider it to be a depressing waste of bandwidth.

The consumer should consider the importance of broadband similar to that of electricity and water. It is just like a commodity that can be wasted if not properly utilized.

The sorting of these problems will help to enhance the broadband connectivity. The consumer should realize the requirement of 3.2Mbps of download speed to steam high definition programs like BBC iPlayer. It is not necessary to be a TalkTalk consumers or not, anyone one can go through the guides in order to enhance the broadband connection as well as to establish a wireless home network.
