Football Team of Welsh village with longest name sponsored to promote TalkTalk fibre broadband

To promote superfast fibre-optic broadband, TalkTalk has struck a deal, a sponsorship deal, with a Welsh Alliance football team. They come from the village with the longest place name in Europe. The team from the small village in the Isle of Anglesey is named- Clwb Pel Droed Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.


TalkTalk is promoting awareness of the service by this new sponsorship deal. The football club has started selling replica shirts bearing the logo and full name. TalkTalk had recently upgraded its network in this area. Local residents can now access its Superpowered Fibre Broadband service. Communications Director Steve Smith of the football club says his home broadband speed has jumped up from 3Mb to 5Mb, on this new service. This partnership has generated a lot of interest. They have been interviewed on Canadian Radio and by ESPN Brazil. The superfast broadband offers speeds in 2 levels- ranging speeds of upto 38Mbps or 76Mbps, available to some fifteen million households.
