Closing date for TalkTalk 2011 Digital Heroes Awards extended to 18th September

TalkTalk has organized Digital Heroes Awards for its broadband customers for the year 2011. This awards aims at recognizing people who are using broadband connection for a social cause. By extending the closing date to 18th September, broadband customers will have one more week to send in their nominations for the digital heroes awards. As per the earlier schedule, the program should have end last week but plagued by the number of inspiring nominations, the provider has extended the closing date. Communications Director of TalkTalk, Mark Schmid has encouraged people to nominate broadband users who are eligible to receive Digital Heroes Awards. The winner of the event will receive £10,000 and 12 qualifying areas will receive £5,000. Public will decide the regional winners from every area in the UK. The award ceremony is set to take place at the House of Lords. Judging panel members comprising Charles Dunstone, the TalkTalk Chairman, Martha Lane Fox the UK Digital Champion and Richard Wallace, Daily Mirror Editor will decide the winner.
