Carphone Warehouse releases the latest trading update

The latest financial report from the Carphone Warehouse shows that the company that owns AOL and TalkTalk has got a customer base of 2,270,000 while over 702,000 of the connections are linked to its LLU network.


As far as TalkTalk  is concerned, the most popular and one of the cheapest broadband providers in the UK has 655,000 customers as of 31st March 2007, showing an addition of 115,000 new connections during the last quarter. In January, there were 540,000 TalkTalk customers and the 20 percent growth in TalkTalk customer base once again confirms the enviable position of TalkTalk as the fastest growing ISP in the UK. Currently, 375,000 of TalkTalk customers are connected by LLU network.


The Carphone Warehouse considers the expansion of its LLU network and the customer service as the major thrust areas. The report says the unbundling of exchanges has been geared up in full swing and over 1024 exchanges were unbundled well in advance. Presently, the LLU network of the company can reach over 70 percent of the UK households.


Carphone has also announced its plans to invest £15m for improving its existing customer support & service and the process is expected to be completed within a year.
