Broadband Connectivity to Milton Keynes Council Severed by TalkTalk

Friday, January 20th 2012

Matters concerning the payment of bills could probably have been the reason for the suspension of broadband connectivity in Milton Keynes Council during the week.

TalkTalk had severed it broadband connectivity to Milton Keynes council that week asserting that the local office had not paid the bills that were pending in their account.

Broadband service to the council was stopped on 19th January Wednesday and this was the third suspension of broadband facilities in a matter of 15 months. This was reported by the Milton Keynes Citizen. Chris Williams the councilor has stated that the financial department of the council was responsible for the last suspension of the broadband connections.

The consequence of the suspension resulted in the workers at the council not being able to avail access to the server and emails.

Mr. Williams stated that he was not able to access the Internet even after he tried to log in on the morning to take print outs of papers for appointments that he had fixed during the day and that he had no other go than to call off meetings with officers of the council.

He elucidated that when he made enquiries he found that the problem was that there were unsettled bills and that their broadband connectivity had been severed.

A spokesman of the council said that an enquiry had been started to look into the complaint, but they were not able to affirm whether the non-payment of bills was what created the problem.

As of now the local office is conducting a research on businesses to gather details regarding the accessibility of broadband in Milton Keynes and also to know the ways in which the facilities were being utilized.

Businesses in the locality have been given time until the 31st of this month to reply to the survey.
