Sky First on the List of the UK’s Landline Consumer Satisfaction Chart
Sky has been found to be the most satisfactory and preferred landline providers according to a survey for the UK broadband and home phone subscribers.
Of the subscribers surveyed by Ofcom, 74% mentioned that they were content with the services provided by Sky and while 14% remained on the fence, only 11% expressed dissatisfaction.
BT came next in the list with 63% consumers expressing their satisfaction, 22% were non-committal, and 15% were disgruntled. The third in the list was TalkTalk with 59% satisfied users, 23% neutral and 18% unhappy.
Virgin Media was placed forth with only 53% of their users happy with the services and 25% being unbiased not bothering to offer their views.
According to Ofcom, ratings for customer service have more or less become better in the landline section since the past two years but the firms that stood first, second and third.
They stated that customer rating for satisfaction with Sky services was definitely quite high and Ofcom also added that the consumers were happy that Sky took issues and queries into consideration, were ready to help resolve problems and even provided a small refund or compensation.
The regulatory authority also made note of the fact that the consumer satisfaction level of TalkTalk had improved significantly this year. The regulator said that customer complaints regarding the way in which TalkTalk was handling customer care issues had dropped considerably by 22% and they also said that point and ratings in various other customer services areas had become better.
However there was more dissatisfaction among consumers using Virgin Media phone lines and with their customer service in general. There were complaints that many registered complaints had not been resolved adequately and there was a drop in the number of customers since the month of February 2011.
