Sky earns profits of £327 million

According to the latest report, Sky’s broadband sales were increased significantly during third quarter of this year. The satellite TV and home phone provider received profits of £327 million.

The provider was able to earn such high profits due to an increase in the take-up of its broadband deals. Existing customers adopted Sky broadband services deals during the period of July to September 2011. During Q3 take-up from new customers was slow, but this was compensated by the broadband deal take-up from existing customers.

The provider said that the profit increase was 32 per cent during the three months. The profits per user increased to £535 a year, from £25 in the previous year. The move to bring multiple products has definitely done well for the firm, despite the competitive market said Chief Executive of Sky Jeremy Darroch.
