It has been reported that BT the Broadband provider and telecommunication giants are providing new high speed modems to their fibre broadband clients. As per The register, people who subscribe for the BT Infinity are expected to be provided with a new EchoLife GH162 modem from Huawei. This would ensure that they can take advantage of their fibre to the premises (FTTC) connectivity. BT has been getting ever so many grievances about modems that are not functioning correctly and modems that are broken and this move is an attempt to better their customer service levels. They have informed their customers through a letter that they were planning to exchange their OpenReach modems for superior ones at no cost just to ensure that they can always avail of the most excellent broadband facilities. They also wrote that the new modem would enhance their broadband connectivity such that their BT Infinity package would be much better. The broadband provider is presently pumping in an amount of 2.5 billion pounds to provide fibre broadband facility in the UK and plans to ensure that 90 percent of the people in the UK would be able to access high speed broadband speed across the country in a matter of another two years.
