Poor Broadband Access Affects the Economy of the North-east: Sir Alan Beith
Reports say that the regional economy of the north-east Britain has been seriously affected by incompetent broadband internet services access. Reports further says that the source of the news has been a local politician who had revealed to the Journal newspaper that the government was urgently needed to rush through the additional works to ensure the access of at least a 2Mbps internet speed to the residents of the region. The local politician who imparted the news to the newspaper was Berwick's Liberal Democrat MP, Sir Alan Beith. His suggestions came reportedly on the back of a BBC report's findings that at least three million households in the country could not be provided a 2Mbps broadband internet connection. The BBC report was published last week. The CLBA (Country Land and Business Association) too had suggested in the back of the findings of the BBC investigation that many of the country's rural communities were served with unacceptable broadband speeds.
According to the Berwick MP, the flawless implementation of the broadband for all plan of the government could prove a great help to the local economy, especially providing a breather for the people who worked from home. He argued that there was no scope for argument, as technology was there to accomplish the schemes, providing the government plan more to allow more access.
