Unwired Fiji, the predominant internet service provider in Fiji has reportedly chosen Motorola to increase the capacity of its existing network across the nation. Motorola will be commited to deploy a WiMAX network based on 802.16e (end-to-end), apart from boosting the existing network capacity as well as coverage of the prime wireless broadband provider of Fiji.

Currently Unwired Fiji is contemplating the rollout of a state-of-the-art telecommunication network across the nation that apart from bringing comprehensive internet services to its customers, would also provide media mobility experiences to businesses as well as home users.

Motorola Asia's vice president for sales and operation, Eric Starnes said that they could design and deploy a network of world class for Unwired Fiji to enhance its future growth, through their expertise and a predominant end-to-end WiMAX technology. He added that their cutting edge WiMAX solutions were scalable and flexible enough for mobile networks of various layouts and sizes, apart from being affordable for those operators with smaller ranges as well.

The wi4 WiMAX of Motorola lets the mobile service providing companies to offer some of the most advanced features in the context such as complete mobile communications, mobile data access, replacement of fixed voice lines and broadband access. Motorola also claims that their WiMAX products enabled the raking of high profits.

Another remarkable claim by Motorola was that they could complete the deployment of the WiMAX network in 2009, even as Unwire Fiji was contemplating a progressive launch.
