Business establishments and households in many parts in the UK persistently demand for super-fast broadband. Their demand is justifiable since in modern times “time is money”. Slow broadband means slow connection which means waste of time. Waste of time amounts to waste of money. Hence they demand super-fast broadband. The Government of the UK, through BDUK has defined super fast as a broadband with a speed of at least 20 Mbps, without upper limit.

Thanks to a church-led project, the people in the Postwick area would get super fast connectivity soon. Internet users in this area were able to sign up a project with Wispire, a Norwich-based internet service provider. The project entails the Diocese of Norwich and Freeclix.

The consumers who sign up the contract with Wispire are guaranteed broadband speed of 6 Mbps. The director of Freeclix, Mr. Steve Batson said that the needs of rural areas are to be taken care of and the firm is ready to expand its existing network out of Norwich.

Blofield Heath, Ringland Hills and Beeston near King’s Lynn were the first three areas that were benefited from Wispire’s broadband services. Now Postwich is going to be the fourth area to be benefited from Wispire.

The deputy Diocesan secretary David Broom said that they consider it as a chance for the church to reach the hearts of their communities and re-establish itself especially in the rural areas. To keep pace with the time, to face challenges in the communications market and for a better standard of life, the rural households and businesses should be equipped with fast broadband.
