Plusnet to stop using its Durban Call Centre
The popular broadband internet service provider operating in the United Kingdom, Plusnet has announced that it would be stopping its call centre operations in Durban, South Africa. Instead, the telco has pledged to shift it to its Sheffield head quarters.
Recently, a marketing campaign had been started by Plusnet aiming at presenting the firm under a positive light as supplier of good and honest broadband services with a price that was 'un-chuffin-beatable'.
The fresh move from the part of the internet service provider is understood to create up to 250 jobs up north with the financial support of Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency.
Plusnet's chief executive officer Jamie Ford said while commenting on the fresh move that the new opportunities in Sheffield meant that all their customer service people would be based under a single roof, which was great news not only for the city but also for their customers.
Ford also calimed that the move would contribute to the continuing success of the company.
BT had acquired Plusnet operations back in 2007 and also inherited a few more overseas operations. Currently, the cheapest broadband package running on the market is Plusnet's Value broadband package priced GBP 6.49.
