Plusnet FTTC Trial sees 30Mbps Average Speed

Wednesday, January 12th 2011

One of the popular broadband suppliers operating in the United Kingdom, Plusnet UK that pledges its broadband would not be beat on price, has issued a fresh update on its up to 40Mbps FTTC technology trials' progress.

According to the claims put forth by the internet service provider, its fibre to the cabinet trialists numbering a bit more than four hundred were enjoying an average download speed of around 30Mbps, with they being currently having room to include more.

Plusnet added that any customer interested in the going were being encouraged to join things before January 25. This according to the belief of the provider was the date their pilot was expected to close for fresh registrations.

Adam Wlker of Plusnet said that as a token of gratitude to all of Plusnet's existing broadband customers as well as anyone who could get FTTC or register their interest by January 25, all of them would be allowed to stay on their current product at the same cost for FTTC as they would be paying for ADSL.

According to Walker, it was worth pointing out that FTTC technology-based services would be in a position for covering approximately 15 to 20 per cent of the United Kingdom within a few months' time.

Besides, Plusnet UK has also extended its superfast 110Mbps FTTP fibre optic trial until 2011 July that seems more or less reflective of delay of BT in deploying the service.
