Plusnet Fibre Broadband launched

One of the leading internet service providers operating in the United Kingdom, Plusnet UK has reportedly launched a fibre optic technology-based broadband internet package, following the footsteps of BT and TalkTalk.

The service of Plusnet UK that engages FTTC (fibre-to-the-cabinet) technology is capable of offering unlimited broadband download speeds of up to 40Mbps. This service is available for GBP 16.49 a month to both existing and new customers located in areas that are fibre-enabled.

The Plusnet fibre broadband deals offer a usage allowance of 40GB, although no download cap is imposed on the consumers between midnight and 8 am of the day.

Another option for the buyers is the Plusnet Extra Fibre package that offers a data download allowance of 120GB. This package also offers a security software of McAfee. The price of this package is GBP 21.49.

Both these fibre optic broadband packages of Plusnet are subject to an installation fee of GBP 50, although this fee will be waivered for the buyers that also take up the home phone service of Plusnet.

Plusnet said that the trials carried out recently on the service showed 74 per cent of the customers who were chieving speeds of between 2 Mbps and 12Mbps previously were getting connection speeds of equal to or more than 30Mbps.
