Plusnet encourages Sheffield residents to adopt internet

In an attempt to reduce the digital divide in Sheffield, Plusnet is creating awareness among the residents of the region. This South Yorkshire-based firm is all set to encourage adoption of internet among the households. With proper awareness, it could increase the digital participation rates in the area.

Currently, over 95,000 people have never gone online. To increase the participation in the digital revolution, effective steps are to be taken. With the new project, Plusnet is doing its part in reducing the digital divide. Go ON Sheffield campaign is supported by Plusnet. This program with offers drop-in sessions within the city offers some basic internet lessons for people.

These sessions will be attended by staffs of Plusnet who will provide necessary practical support and advice to people who don’t have a home broadband. During these sessions, the people will be taught about the various possibilities of the internet. They can perform variety of applications such as gaming, shopping and communication. UK online centres and Heeley Development Trust organized by Go ON Sheffield program is backed by Plusnet and Sheffield City Council.

This new move will help more people at Sheffield to adopt internet. With increased take up of internet, people of Sheffield will compete better with the rest of the world.
