Plusnet ditches its Free International Calls Package
The popular internet service provider based in Sheffield, Plusnet has been reported to be removing its free international telephone calls package for a number of existing customers and all fresh customers from January 2011. Compare broaband offers and special deals from major broadband providers in UK.
It has also been reported that a thumping price increase for all the customers using the feature currently was also on cards.
To be preciser, the concession of three hundred free minutes of international calls a month towards twenty international destinations that include the United States will be withdrawn from January 4 2011 for all customers but for those that have subscribed by that date to the TalkAnytime tariff.
After the stipulated date, customers on the cheaper package 'Talk Evening and Weekends' will cease to get the concession besides being unable to switch to it either. A fresh Anytime package is also in the offering at GBP 3.50 a month. This is GBP 1.50 lesser than the current price.
However, this deal offers only a discount of 25 per cent on the fresh international costs instead of free calls.
Given that the fixed-line calls to the aforesaid twenty destinations will largely cost 8.48 pence a minute inclusive of a 20 per cent VAT, it reflects a great change for the customers on TalkEvening and Weekends package.
