Orange slashes its broadband service charges
Orange wants to become the cheapest broadband provider in the UK. They have already reduced their charges for their various schemes. There is a reduction of GBP 5 per month in the case of all Orange mobile customers. The ‘Home Broadband and Calls’ package of Orange grants 20 meg broadband and limitless usage allowance on a one year contract. However, line rental of GBP 12.75 per month has to be paid to Google. Previously the line rental charges used to be GBP 11.50 a month and the broadband and off-peak calls charges were GBP 7.50 a month. Ultimately, there is a reduction of GBP 1.25 a month. In the case of ‘Broadband and Anytime Calls’ bundle, the increase in charges is GBP 1.25 per month. It remains to be seen whether Orange is the cheapest. Others may also come with offers. Another provider, Plus net charges only 50%, which is GBP 3.24 every month for the first 12 months and GBP 6.49 after that. The charges of Orange may work out to be cheaper in this case in the long run.
