Digital Britain Scopes will be considered by Orange

Saturday, January 23rd 2010

Orange, one of the five leading mobile broadband operators in the United Kingdom, is staging a debate that would consider the ways universal broadband internet access as well as other technologies could affect day-to-day life in the United Kingdom.

The debate, which would be a live event, will be staged on the 3rd of February. To hold the event, the internet service provider is teaming up with the London Transport Museum.

The debate, which will be chaired by Evan Davis, the renowned journalist at BBC, would also participate elite people such as Kulveer Ranger, the transport adviser to the Mayor of London, Janet Street-Porter, the broadcaster and James Bellini, the futurologist. It is believed that these people would present their views on how broadband internet connectivity would impact on population trends and lifestyles across the United Kingdom.

Orange UK's corporate marketing director, Robert Ainger meanwhile commented on the debate that it aimed to discuss how the United Kingdom would get changed as fresh technologies shape places of work and living. He added that the debate would also discuss how to get there.

According to Ainger not only the population itself, but also their working ways could go through a fundamental change.
