4GEE extends to 18 airports and 14 new towns covering 70% of UK

EE UK has announced the expansion of its 4GEE (mobile broadband network) to 18 largest airports and 14 more towns in the UK. With this, 4GEE now covers 70% of the population. Hence, not just the broadband network, EE will also make sure that phone calls quality meets the standards. And for this around £275m will be invested, reports say.

14 towns that EE will cover are Belper, Ellesmere Port, Cannock, Grangemouth, Hartlepool, Harrogate, Motherwell, Keighley, Paignton, Torquay, Richmond (North Yorkshire), Widnes and Skelmersdale. And 18 airports include Heathrow, Stansted, Gatwick, Luton, Birmingham, City, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Bristol, Liverpool John Lennon, Belfast International, Nottingham East Midlands, Leeds-Bradford, Robin Hood, Blackpool and George Best Belfast City. Some of the busiest rail routes also will get the 4G service.
