O2: Free London Underground WiFi service to be launched on 22 July

Wednesday, July 3rd 2013

O2 recently announced about the launch of free WiFi services to O2 WiFi registered customers on London Underground on 22nd July this year.

The launch of this free service was previously scheduled for June but nothing was confirmed until the latest rollout declared for this month end. It was announced that the reason behind the delay is due to the final stages of testing going on for this WiFi service. It will become live soon after its launch, it has announced. The rollout was installed by Virgin Media at 120 stations before the start of London Olympics last year.

The tube WiFi will be available at some of the busiest stations such as Kings Cross St Pancras and Piccadilly Circus. All mobile customers except Three will be able to enjoy this free service.
