Free WiFi Network announced by O2
One of the leading telecommunications service providers operating in the United Kingdom, O2 hasfinally decided to launch a free WiFI (wireless broadband) network across the United Kingdom.
The creation of a WiFi broadband platform in the country has been intended by the network operator that will seldom charge for access, not just its customers but also other members of the public.
O2 promises a simple, secure and fast wireless broadband network that will be available to everyone by the year 2013. The operator reckons that its new neetwork would be boasting of twice the number of premium WiFi hotspots offered at present by The Cloud and BT Openzone combined.
The fresh WiFi network's rollout starts today, with the initial step being the replacement of four hundred fifty existing Cloud WiFi hotspots in the retail and office operations of O2.
Subsequently, the network is expected to expand across different venues in the United Kingdom that will include restaurants, shops, retail outlets and many outdoor and indoor locations throughout the country.
The new business development director of O2, Tim Sefton commented that the WiFi hotspots of O2 would bring top quality public wireless broadband access to the majority of mobile consumers.
