AAISP blames O2 for trying to poach their Customers

Monday, February 21st 2011

One of the popular internet saervice providers operating in Britain, Andrews and Arnolds, better known in the country as AASIP has suspended fresh orders for lines based on Be Broadband following reports from new customers that their information had been passed on to some marketing firm operating in the country.

This company had, according to the allegations made by AAISP, started cold calling the numbers of these customers in a bid to try and sell services of O2 UK.

O2 is the parent firm of Be Broadband, and also run its services on the same network. Nevertheless, passing on the customer data gained from a third party bropadband provider for marketing purposes potentially points to the breaking of law.

It is understood that the act of poaching customers being a grave breach of privacy shows BE Wholesale, which was launched recently in a bad light. Meanwhile, broadband providers will not be keen in using a provider that passes their information onto a rival.

AAISP said in a statement that they have stopped the line checker of BE, which meant that any fresh orders for BE Broadband lines would also remain stopped for the time being after reports that checked numbers have been passed to a marketing firm, which have been cold calling them trying to sell services of O2.
