It has been reported that the upcoming Mobile World Congress that would be taking place next month in Barcelona, Spain would witness a massive splash made by the companies based in the United Kingdom. As a curtain raiser, an event has been hosted by UK Trade and Investment for showcasing twenty tech-firms exhibiting at the event.

One promising display at the event would be WiBE developed by Deltenna. This device is a 3G broadband access point, which uses 4 antennas for providing consumers with internet connectivity in rural parts or where coverage is anavailable.

It has been claimed that a consumer in North Wales used WiBE priced at GBP 299 for accessing the BBC iPlayer, when his regular 3G mobile broadband dongle was inoperable owing to incompetent 3G coverage. It is understood that the device is useful for connecting people at spots such as construction sites with internet.

Mobile ticketing is provided by Masabi. THe application can be had over the internet, providing a 2D bar-code ticket. Incidentally, 2D readers have been installed by London's Marylebone in its barriers. A mobile reader can be used to check the tickets, while the ticket's human readable version is also available for use when there is an absence of the bar-code reader.

Another significant exhibit would be the cross platform remote access technology provided by Real VNC, which has been already claimed as one of the best ten top grossing apps on Apple App Store for individual as well as corporate use.
