HSPA mobile broadband connects over 500 million customers
The results of a recent study suggest that high speed packet access (HSPA) mobile broadband subscriptions around the world will cross 500 million customers by the end of June 2011. HSPA is one of the most popular 3G technologies and a fastest growing wireless solution too, describes GSMA, a Broadband industry group. The popularity of this new technology is as a result of the increase use of dongle and media tablets. GSMA expects that by next year, the figure will cross one billion. It also suggests that internet service providers (ISPs) will make investments of billions in HSPA broadband in the coming five years. It appears that mobile operators are investing in long-term evolution technology. Currently, there are one million LTE users around the world.
