Orbital Net Limited, the wireless broadband network provider in Kent has announced that the launch WiMax based broadband service in Folkestone in Kent is on the cards. The company has been planning to launch wireless broadband service with speeds up to 10 Mbps using radio spectrum of 5.4 GHZ and 8 GHZ, according to the report.

It should be noted that Orbital has launched its wireless broadband services in other places like Canterbury, Thanet and Ashford earlier. Since the high speed wireless broadband service is on demand by businesses in Kent, Orbital will plan to provide reliable, business class wireless broadband in this area.

Two years ago, Orbital took over the Telabria Network that helped Orbital to expand the reach of its wireless broadband network across many areas in Kent.

Although, Orbital will be offering wireless broadband services only to the businesses in this area, it has signed a deal with Vfast Ltd that will extend the WiMax broadband service to the home users, however, with releatively less speeds (2 to 10 Mbps) for a monthly price of £24.99.
