Friday, December 31st 2010

These day's it is apparent that more and more mobile broadband consumers are taking to data access through smartphones. Windows smartphones were the gadgets that set the pace all though it is obvious that the relatively new open source operating system for Google; Android has emerged as the most rapidly growing mobile platform on the planet.

There are a number of factors that have contributed to Android's gaining the position it is enjoying at present.

The major factor of the lot is the relentless innovation undertaken by the interface. The stakeholders of Android that range from makers and mobile phone carriers to the developers of software and Google itself have introduced a galaxy of Android devices, applications, fresh partners and custom UIs in 2010.

This is despite the fact that many in the initial days have argued that this operating system was an iPhone copy. They also tended to pointing to the theory that the first attempts of Google to build a mobile platform resembled Windows mobile or Blackberry with a smaller display and hardware key board.

This resulted in Apple's changing the face of smartphones in 2007 January with the launch of Apple iPhone. Contrastingly, Google announced the Android operating system and the Open Handset Alliance in 2007 November.

Android, although not as polished as the operating system of iPhone in some aspects, still earned admiration of a significant conumer group that in spite of being attracted to iPhone are reluctant to deal with the restrictions placed by Apple. Android OS has also been upheld by a nymber of people that simply maintained an anti-Apple sentiment.
