2011 Will be the Year of Mobile Broadband Connections

According to a major new research report, by the year 2011 the number of mobile broadband services across the country would exceed that of the fixed line broadband internet connections in the United Kingdom.

It has been predicted that 42.7 million mobile broadband service connections would be activated in the country within the next couple of years. During the same time there will be a decent customer-base of 42.5 million customers for the fixed line broadband providers in the country as well.

The above figures have been published in the new Taking Internet Mobile - United Kingdom report of the survey agency mobileSQUARED. According to the chief analyst of mobile SQUARED, Nick Lane's opinion there were numerous reasons for mobile broadband connections to become increasingly popular.

Lane said that mobile was a much sought after service and the customers carried their dongles for about sixteen hours a day. He also suggested that if the brand or company was not readily considering the adaptability of the mobile broadband concept, they should be doing that because the customers needed them seriously.

It was only in the recent times that the EU had called on all its member countries to utilise the same chunk of the radio spectrum to rollout mobile broadband internet services.
