Market research survey shows growth in e-commerce
Currently, there are more than 60 percent of UK house holds have broadband connections. Despite the relatively slower growth during the last one year, total internet users will account for nearly three-fourths (70%) of UK population by the year 2012, a recent market report from emarketer shows. According to the report, over 60 percent of UK population regularly went online during 2007. While 37 million of internet users were found to be online, the numbers that indicate the growth in e-commerce shows high levels of confidence in e-commerce as UK alone accounted for 40% of 2008 online sales in Western Europe, the report further indicates. The forecasts in e-commerce are quite optimistic. Not only, is the number of customers who use e-commerce growing but also the average annual spend per customer also found to be growing.
